Dr. Weldyn Houger becomes APEO Director

Effective on July 1, 2010 Dr. Weldyn Houger assumed the role of APEO Director, replacing Dr. John Carter who plans to retire at the end of August, 2010.  Dr. Houger recently completed his D.Miss. studies at Biola University.  His wife, Barbara, is also completing studies at Biola for her Ph.D. in Intercultural Teaching.

The Hougers bring a wealth of experience as Asia Pacific Bible school educators, having served for many years as missionaries in Indonesia and at AG Bible School in Singapore, where Weldyn was President.  Weldyn has served as Associate Director for APEO since 2006.

For the past several years, Weldyn and Barbara have been teaching as Missionaries In Residence at Northwest University while completing their doctoral studies.  During this time they have also made a number of consultation visits to schools in Asia Pacific and participated in APTA and APEO conferences.  In their new role, they plan to travel extensively among the schools of the region to provide on-site assistance wherever needed.

Dr. John Carter became APEO Director in April, 2005 after leaving the presidency of APTS.  He and his wife, Bea, plan to retire in Southern California where their daughter, Kim,  and her family live, including two grandchildren and a great grandchild.  Their son, Steven and his family, including two grandchildren, live in Sweden.

WELCOME to the redesigned APEO website!

The Asia Pacific Education Office (APEO) is the educational arm of the Asia Pacific Office of Assemblies of God World Missions-USA (AGWM). The office exists to provide resources and consultation to ministerial training institutions around Asia Pacific. This web site serves at the primary repository for resources produced and distributed by APEO.

All resources are free for your use, but to access them you must first register. This will allow us to track the use of the site and inform you as new resources become available. You may duplicate our resources but may not modify the content or sell the materials.  Please note that all resources are presented in Adobe Acrobat format.

A new service of APEO is a faculty database that is being developed.  These are pastors, missionaries and faculty members of US Assemblies of God schools who have agreed to teach for our Asia Pacific Bible schools, as requested and arranged by the school.  Presently, we have included the APEO consultants in the list, but will be adding others as individuals agree to serve in this way.  If you have a need for someone to teach for you, please contact the faculty member directly, giving as much advance notice as possible to ensure availability.

Note:  If you have any suggestions for improvement of the website, please forward these to Keith Sorbo.  We want the site to be of maximum value and usefulness.
